Bio on Demonstrator

Suzanne C. Mahr, local artist and native of Wisconsin has collected ideas and subjects for her artistic impressions throughout her travels.  Realism is found within her work.

Suzanne, a multi-media artist, began painting over 25 years ago and has been teaching for 20 of those years.  She teaches Oil Painting and Watercolor, as well as seminars on painting Wearable Art.  You will find her teaching at the Art Center of Citrus County, Citrus Springs community Center, and Withlachoochee Technical College.  She enjoys watching her students progress.  If someone comes to her class who has never painted before, never held a brush, and they can paint a picture and go home with something they have accomplished, it's really exciting.  Suzanne liks the use of light against dark to achieve her end result and enjoys painting all subject matter.
Suzanne also specializes in Rosemaling, Decorative Painting and Plein Aire Painting.

Her education includes art classes at the University of Wisconsin, seminars, workshops and demonstrations throughout Wisconsin and Florida, as well as self-taught techniques.  She has won numerous awards for her work.

Suzanne's art work has been displayed in several galleries in Wisconsin and Florida as well as many showings thoughout.  She has been named "Artist of the Month" at the Art Center of Citrus County and shows her work in the gallery at the Art Center of Citrus County on a monthly basis.
